Terms of Service

Please read these Terms carefully. By creating an account or using ZoneRead, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What ZoneRead is — and is not

ZoneRead is a contract comprehension and triage tool. It reads an NIL (name, image, and likeness) contract you provide, explains it in plain English, flags common patterns by severity, checks it against general eligibility considerations, surfaces deadlines, and shows you what a document leaves open.

ZoneRead is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Using the Service does not create an attorney–client relationship. Nothing ZoneRead produces is a legal opinion, and it is not a substitute for a licensed attorney reviewing your specific agreement in your state.

General NIL information. Parts of the site (including the About NIL pages) provide general information about NIL that is free and available without an account. That material is general education only. It is not a description of the Service, it is not about your contract, and it is not legal advice.

AI-generated analysis. The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate its analysis. AI output can be incomplete or wrong: it may miss problematic terms, mischaracterize clauses, or flag things incorrectly. The analysis is educational and may not reflect the most current laws or athletic-association rules. Always verify with your state association, your compliance office, and independent counsel.

2. Eligibility, minors, and parental consent

You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service. If the athlete is a minor, a parent or legal guardian must create and control the account and accept these Terms on the athlete's behalf.

3. Your account

Keep your credentials secure and tell us promptly of any unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity under your account.

4. Plans, payments, billing, and cancellation

The Service offers a free preview of any deal and a Deal File subscription for $149 per month that unlocks unlimited full reads and ongoing tracking. Cancel anytime.

• Free preview. Before you buy, the Service may run your contract and show you a limited preview — a short overall read, counts of what was flagged by severity, and one flagged item. The remainder is withheld unless you have an active Deal File subscription. Previews are limited per account and provided on the same educational, non-advice basis as everything else. We may change or withdraw the preview at any time.
• Payment processing. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details.
• Auto-renewal. Deal Monitoring renews automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel any time from your account settings; access continues to the end of the paid period.
• Refunds. [Refund policy — confirm with counsel.] Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable.

5. The independent attorney referral network

Referrals happen only at your request. ZoneRead does not send your deal, your contract, or your information to any attorney unless you ask for a referral — no deal is routed to an attorney automatically, regardless of how it is flagged. At your request, ZoneRead may refer you to independent attorneys. Those attorneys are not employed by ZoneRead, and ZoneRead does not share fees with them or charge them for referrals. Any engagement is strictly between you and that attorney.

Attorney fees are not included in any ZoneRead price. Any amount an attorney charges is set by that attorney, billed by that attorney, and paid directly to that attorney — separately from, and in addition to, anything you pay ZoneRead. ZoneRead's involvement ends with the introduction: ZoneRead is not a party to your engagement with an attorney, does not supervise or direct their work, receives no payment from them, and does not share in their fees.

6. Your content and how we use it

You keep ownership of the contracts and information you submit. You grant ZoneRead a limited licence to process that content to provide the Service. See the Privacy Policy.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service unlawfully, submit content you have no right to submit, attempt to breach or overload it, or resell or redistribute its output as your own professional advice.

8. Intellectual property

ZoneRead, its name, and its software are owned by ZoneRead. These Terms grant no rights in our marks or software beyond using the Service.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the analysis is complete, accurate, or current.

10. Limitation of liability

[Confirm with counsel.] To the maximum extent permitted by law, ZoneRead will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost opportunities. Our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify ZoneRead against claims arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

13. Governing law and disputes

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new date, and continued use means acceptance.
